I've decided these are the best drinks in New Orleans. Huge tiki drinks? Yes please. Give it to me.
For only eleven dollars you can get one of their jumbo drinks which will get you intoxicated VERY quickly. I got the Huma Huma which was sweet but not cloying, and my husband got the Red Turtle which was absolutely delicious (even if you don't like tequila I will still recommend this drink, the tequila isn't a forefront note).
The burgers here were voted the best in the city, and I definitely enjoyed mine. I ordered a medium rare burger and my husband got medium, both were actually cooked properly! This is a rarity at burger places, which often don't get it right. I appreciated their baked potatoes, which totally made the meal.
This is the best tiki bar in the city, and not to toot my own horn but I know tiki bars quite well. Forget those two places on Decatur street! You need a good dive with strong drinks and quality food. Come here. This place is awesome and my favorite stop in Nola. -

Wow...I RARELY ever leave negative reviews, but holy cow. This place is well deserved of a bad one.
From the moment my husband and I walked in, we were treated as if we were intruding. At first we thought we were being punkd' because our hostess, waitress and bartender were so rude!
Dark atmosphere, no life, zero energy. We came here bc the burgers got decent reviews. Burgers were okay, nothing to get excited about. $53 for 2 burgers.... save your$$$. -

Monsoon? Good.
Baked potato? Good.
Burger? Blaaaaaaaaaaaand.
I couldn't add enough salt to make the meat taste anything more than just OK. I just don't understand a deliberate lack of seasoning. They only have like 8 things on the menu. Those items should be impeccable.
I would probably go next time just for the drinks. -

I have visited this place many times since Mardi Gras of last year. In addition, I have introduced others to Port of Call as well due to their delicious burgers and out of this world potatoes. However, on this particular occasion, I truly did not appreciate the service received by the manager on duty, Scott. All was well! Food was great! We chopped it up with the cook after eating our food. The cook brought us our to go boxes. We requested our ticket, and that is when everything escalated. This particular business does not take Discover cards. WHO KNEW. However, on the menu, it clearly states what they do not accept (separating checks and personal checks). There was nothing anywhere that stated, "Port of Call does not accept Discover." Unfortunately for me, that was the only card I had this evening. The waitress shared that there was any ATM outside that I could use. I then expressed to her that I did not have my ATM card, and I only had this particular card. The waitress called the manager over. I explained to him the problem and asked him what I could do. I informed Scott that I was more than willing to pay with cash app, Venmo, PayPal. Needless to say, he was not very friendly concerning the situation and did not handle it professionally whatsoever.
Scott was very much in my personal space with his bodyguard attached at the hip as if they thought I wanted to make a run for it. It was uncomfortable to say the least. I reassured the waitress and the manager, I want to pay for my food. However, I was unaware this particular business did not take my credit card of choice. As stated before, I have been to this place numerous times and not once was this even a thought that they didn't take Discover. When asked why this information was not listed somewhere on the menu or in their restaurant for others to be aware prior to placing their order, Scott continued to reiterate that I needed to figure out a way to pay for my food. He then went on to make rude remarks such as, "Obviously, you don't have the money. You need to make some type of arrangements."
Overall, let's be very clear, I could have easily asked my neighboring friend to pay for my food, but it was the way the issue was addressed. Scott was not professional in any way, and to prevent this type of situation from happening in the future, add it to the menu at the bottom where all of the other information is listed. And for all other potential costumers, the food is amazing and worth trying, but be sure to have some form of payment other than Discover. -

We walked about 3 blocks from Bourbon St, it's a dark small bar type place, we came for the drinks, it was highly recommended, the drink was so good and very strong, next time I will like to try the burgers, everyone said they are amazing.
